Strange Daze, Austin Groove Part 2 —A Documentary Film Series on Live Music in America

A backstage, backyard groove culture reality with a
political backbeat
featuring some of Austin's most eclectic celebrities and public figures...

Austin is known world wide for hippies, music and politics— which definitely makes for a diverse "weird" local culture. As George Bush went from the Governor's mansion in Austin to the White house in Washington there was a new wind blowing through Austin and in music cities across America. The incorporation of style, the value of American liberty and fear is reflected in the local culture.

This film follows the path of the Austin Music Community over the past 11 years and how artists, musicians and filmmakers succeeded in creating an audience for original homespun television media but was shackled when given the dubious task of turning a politically charged Public Access Channel (the FIRST Public Access Channel in America) into a "for profit" entity featuring Music and Arts on a 24/7 basis. Held together by shoe strings, Shiner beer, cigarettes, and a passionate community of radio, television and film industry devotees, the Austin Music Network survived on practically no budget and a lot of heart for years.

The Politics of Music in the Live Music Capital of the of the World. Appearances by some of Austin's most eclectic celebrities and public figures.

Live Performances by Bob Schneider, Pushmonkey, John Pointer, M.C. Overlord, Vallejo, Lisa Tingle, Ultrasonic, Guy Forsyth, Podunk, Patricia Vonne, Natalie Zoe, Malford Milligan, Asylum Street Spankers, The Illustrated Band and many more.
